Our photo session with Karen was absolutely amazing. We had so much fun together and absolutely adore every single one of our photos.
I won this shoot, participating in Karen’s #thepresentmama movement. It’s an intentional community, helping you connect more to God, your family & yourself. It’s a great thing she’s doing. Definitely check it out on her Facebook group or website.
Karen was such a delight to work with. She really just makes you feel comfortable and prepared. I talked a bit about how she helps with wardrobe styling in my Prepping for Our Family Photo Shoot post. She really offers it all. I told her that she was definitely the most organized photographer I have ever met. Ever. It really takes any guess-work or worry away. I have super anxiety and I was calm and collected the whole way through. (My hubby may disagree with this part while we were out shopping for clothes, though.)
We met Karen at her beautiful little studio and got to pet her sweet fluffy Ben. (the Old English Sheepdog) Then we followed her to a Grimsby beach location that I didn’t even know existed. It was beautiful down there.
Karen’s focus is to capture natural moments with your family simply interacting together. She makes it fun and comfortable. We mostly just played together as a family on the beach. My oldest son strongly dislikes photos and even he enjoyed our time with Karen. She let him do his thing, collecting stones and pieces of washed up beach glass and bits of china, and she got some really great photos of him.
She really captured who we are as a family, and how much we love each other.
When presentation day came, we all cozied up on Karen’s studio couch (in our jammies) and she presented us with a beautiful slideshow on her large screen projector (which really made a big impact) with touching music, and made sure to tell me ahead of time that she had lots of kleenex on hand, because of course there was lots of happy tears.
She includes a little glass box with your printed images inside. I can imagine this keepsake sitting on our coffee table forever. When Geoff and I are old Grandparents, holding hands on the sofa, watching our little grandchildren play around the living room, I see this box still sitting there. Treasuring the memories, while we flip through the photos and our grand babies telling us how young we all once were.
There’s also a beautiful little data stick, engraved with her Reflections of Life Photography logo. It holds all of your print ready and web ready files, organized into albums, ready to be shared with your friends and family or printed to be hung in your home. (I told you Karen was organized!)
Everyone should experience a photo session with Karen. They’ll be the best photos your family could ever hope for. Thank you so much, Karen. We are absolutely in love with our images. They will be cherished forever and we feel so blessed that we were able to work with you.
